The Opter Ensemble was founded by the hornist Guglielmo Pellarin, the violinist Francesco Lovato e the pianist Federico Lovato. Thanks to the particular ensemble, the strength work of research and discovery on the repertoire for this ensemble and the growing number of pieces dedicated to this group the Opter Ensemble is an important reference point in the Italian musical review.
During the 2016 season of Ex Novo Ensemble, at the Sale Apollinee of Teatro La Fenice of Venice, the Opter Ensemble first performed F. Schweizer’s Trio, written for that concert; the concert, including music by Ligeti and V. Williams, was recorded by RAI Radio 3.
Several works had been dedicated to the Opter Ensemble, including D. Zanettovich’s and F. Francescato’s arrangements of, respectively, Brahms’ op.11 Serenade and Strauss’ tone poem “Till Eulenspiegels lustige Streiche” op.28, and further “Punctus contra Rhythmus” by the Azerbaijanian composer G. Mirzayeva and F. Schweizer’s Trio.
Numerous are the concerts for important festivals and reviews, including I concerti del Quirinale di Radio3, Dilsberger Kammermusiktage, Festival Mezzano Romantica, Ascoli Piceno Festival, Vacanze Musicali di Sappada, and concert seasons such as Società Coro e Orchestra San Marco of Pordenone and Colibrì Ensemble of Pescara.
In 2016 the Opter Ensemble was selected for CIDIM (Italian National Commette for Music) and CRUP (Fondazione Friuli) for the project “Friuli in Musica”, which is generously supporting both the concerts and promotional activities of the ensemble with concerts in Italy, Turkey, Albany, Germany, Sweden and Japan.
